Starfield won’t release until next year, but that won’t stop Bethesda Game Studios from releasing new teasers about the game. The developer posted the latest one. Starfield video Tuesday, and it features game director Todd Howard, studio director Angela Browder, and art director Matt Carofano discussing the game, as well as a mix of old and new concept art.
In the video, Howard and his company discuss what it means to create a new Bethesda title and how the studio’s legacy has helped shape the direction of Starfield. Howard even mentions Bethesda’s signature ‘exit’ moments – when players first see the game world in its entirety – and teases that Starfield has two.
Howard also says the team wants to do Starfield a game in which players can get lost for hundreds of hours, but still with recognizable stories to tell their friends, whether it’s saving the world or other adventures in space.
Of course, the video contains more than the developer’s ambitious plans. There is also a lot of concept art shown as Howard and the others talk. There are a few old images, like landscapes of futuristic cities or alien planets, as well as some old artwork that now has animated elements in the background. But the real appeal of video is the new concept art; There are at least half a dozen new pieces in this video, including drawings of crystal caves, lonely alien explorations, and a space cat.
While fantasy science fiction and space elements clearly play an important role in StarfieldBrowder also points out that this is the most grounded world Bethesda has created so far. According to Browder, the team’s individual interests in things like robotics and engineering play a big role in the things they create for the gaming world.
Starfield is slated to launch on November 11, 2022 for Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Starfield will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on release day.
