Moving rocks and making a rock garden — Animal Crossing: New Horizons guide

Several rocks are across your island in Animal crossing: new horizons on Switch, providing a reliable stream of resources such as Iron Nuggets and Stone.

It’s likely that the rocks on your island have appeared in inconvenient places, such as a spot that interrupts your tracking plans. Fortunately, you can move rocks. In this guide, we’ll show you how.

To move a rock, you have to break it. Eat a fruit to gain strength and crush your shovel in the oscillate. You will need to eat one fruit per stone that you want to break. Shattered rocks will respawn in a random location, so it might take a few tries to get them to where you want to go.

Any rocks you break will respawn in a random location on your island, but note that only one boulder will respawn each day. In other words, if you break six stones today, you will only have one stone tomorrow and it will take almost a week for them all to come back. We recommend that you break one each day, whichever is less convenient, and repeat it every day until you are happy with the positioning.

Boulders are extremely important at first for farming Iron Nuggets, as well as collecting bells from a Silver Rock, so make sure you don’t crush them all at once. To maximize your resources, limit yourself to breaking one stone per day.
