Want to fly over the sprawling Yara landmass without being shot down by any of the AA Guns in Far Cry 6? The good news is that it is possible to destroy AA weapons in Far Cry 6 you can therefore fly without running the risk of being shot down from the sky and in a fiery and premature disappearance to the ground.
What are Far Cry 6 AA guns and why you should destroy them
Anti-aircraft guns are exactly what they look like. These are huge cannons found in Yara that will destroy any aircraft flying within range that are not part of Castillo’s forces.
You can see the radius of each AA cannon by opening your map and looking for the large red circle. Until an anti-aircraft gun is destroyed in Far Cry 6, you won’t be able to fly in these areas without being shot down, most often resulting in death.
All AA weapon slots
Anti-aircraft gun locations are marked on your map with a cannon icon, shown in the screenshot below.
Open your map, head to each of these locations and you’ll find a big white cannon on the ground, often surrounded by Castillo’s troops.
Destroy antiaircraft guns in Far Cry 6
To easily destroy anti-aircraft guns in Far Cry 6, head to the locations marked on your map by car or boat. Upon arrival, make your way to the antiaircraft gun itself and equip with ranged explosives, grenade, RPG, or other explosive weapon.
Aim one of your throwables (or explosive weapons) at the AA gun and watch the fireworks begin.
Once the Far Cry 6 antiaircraft gun is destroyed, you can then focus on taking out nearby enemies. Killing these enemies, however, is not necessary to destroy the anti-aircraft gun.
You are now free to fly your planes or helicopters in the sky above.
